REVIEW HOR "EXITIUM"

After the great return of some legendary Greek black metal musicians with YOTH IRIA, this review is about another Greek black metal band called HOR. To be honest, I haven't heard the name of this band before Vangelis, the label manager from Sanit Mils Records contacted me and introduced this band to me. If this hadn't happened, this really astonishing band would have passed me and maybe I would never have taken notice of their masterpiece called "Exitium". HOR was founded in 2017 by two musicians which use the pseudonyms Ophion and Throne and "Exitium" is their first official release.

And yes, HOR are from Greece, nevertheless you shouldn't rashly put them in the category "Greek black metal", rather this album is a must-have for all passionate fans of second wave black metal such as Darkthrones classics such as "A blaze in the northern sky" or "Under a funeral moon". If you like early Gorgoroth ("Pentagram" or "Antichrist") , Taake, the German Graven or Swedish black metal legend Armagedda as well you have to check out HOR immediately !

"Exitium" contains four relatively long tracks, each with an duration between six and eight minutes. HOR find the perfect balance between primitivism and rawness on the one hand and cool riffs and catchy song structures on the other hand which results in really exciting and enthralling tracks. So don't hesistate and support this great band and the labels who released this stuff and buy this underground jewel ! The LP version was released by the alredy mentioned Sanit Mils Records, the CD was released by Metal Throne Productions and the tape version was released by Immortal Ruins Recordings
