REVIEW DEATHMACE "COFFIN' MAGGOTS"

Almost exactly two years ago I reviewed Deathmace's debut album named "Bleeding Frenzy" (look here for the review) which convinced me very much with its powerful mixture between death and thrash metal. Some weeks ago the band from York, England released a two-track single, that maintains the high quality of the predecessor. The first song "Coffin' maggots" starts very groovy with stop-and-go parts and some kind of gang shouts, before it evolves in a more heavy and deep direction and progresses in high-speed tempo. To sum up, an atypical track for Deathmace. Watch the delicious videoclip for "Coffin' maggots" here:

The second track of the single named "Nuclear soul stealer" is a cover of a song from a band called The Vexed which is located in York as well. I don't know the original track, I can only say that it shows in usual manner the very intensive death/thrash as known from Deathmace. To name some references for a better classification of Deathmace in general, I mention bands such as Vader or Angelcorpse. Highly recommended for fans of the mentioned bands and for people who are in search for really good and aggressive underground stuff. All releases from Deathmace are available on their bandcamp site for free.
